A Hydraulic oil is the medium by which power and heat is transferred in hydraulic machinery. Hydraulic fluid can be used in excavators & backhoes, hydraulic brakes, power steering systems, transmissions, garbage trucks, aircraft control systems, lifts and industrial machinery. 

Whenever a hydraulic fluid comes in contact with a source of ignition or the surface of very hot equipment, fire resistant hydraulic fluids may be used.
